Holy Face devotion – printable prayers

These prayers will be recited every day at 6 pm at Marie-Julie Jahenny’s in front of the image of the Holy Face

Sister Saint Peter, carmelite of Tours

On November 24th, Our Lord opened up entirely to this soul:

“Until now, he told her, I have but shown you little by little the design I hold in my Heart, but today I want to unfold it entirely. The earth is full of crime, and the infringement on the first three of God’s Commandments has irritated my Father. The Holy Name of God blasphemed and the profanation of Sundays have exceeded the measure of iniquity. These sins have risen to the throne of God, and are provoking his anger, which will be upon us if we do not appease his justice. At no time have crimes risen so high. I desire, I ardently desire, that a well-approved and well-organized association be formed to honor the name of my Father. And our Lord made it clear to her that in this way he wanted to forgive a great many sinners.

On December 7th, a new and more important message. Our Lord made her see to what extent France had provoked his vengeance by all the blasphemy it was guilty of: “He told her that he could no longer dwell in this country which, like a viper, was tearing up the heart of his mercy to the blood; that mercy would now give way to justice, which will overflow with all the more fury for having waited so long”. Then, frightened by these terrible threats, she said: “My Lord, let me ask you one thing: if we do this work of reparation you desire, would you still forgive France?”.

“I will forgive her once more”, responded our Lord, “but take notice: once. As this sin of blasphemy is spreading throughout France and is public, this reparation must be public and spread in all cities of France; woe to those cities who do not take part in this reparation!”.

Another time Our Lord told her that: “We would wrench the sword from God’s hands by doing the work of reparation, which He ardently desires in order to be merciful”.

Then this pious soul heard Jesus tell her, from within his tabernacle: “O you who are my friends and faithful children, can you see suffering comparable to mine? My Father is insulted, my Church held in contempt; will there be no one to rise up to defend my cause? I can no longer remain in the midst of such an ungrateful people. Torrents of tears are flowing from my eyes: will I find no one to wipe the tears by doing reparation to the Glory of my Father and asking for the conversion of the guilty?

More recently still Our Lord told her : “France has become hideous in the eyes of my Father; it is provoking His justice; if we do not strive to obtain mercy, France will be smiten”.

In the course of the year 1845, light was shed more brightly than ever on the need for this work of reparation which was to redeem France; and our Lord instructed the Sister that the crime of blasphemy, by attacking God directly, re-enacted the insults, that, during his Passion, had covered his adorable Face; that it was particularly this Holy Face that blasphemers were insulting. He gave her the work of reparation as a gift, like a precious coin with His effigy that she could offer Him so that God’s wrath may relent and the guilty may be forgiven.

From time to time the Sister had new messages on the same subject. She prayed and suffered constantly to obtain the establishment of this work of reparation. She predicted numerous facts that events confirmed. She announced hardship fifteen days before the floods. She continuously saw the hand of God lifted up to chastise France, and announced new punishment if we did not force the hand of God through prayer, penance, and by the establishment and propagation of the work of reparation for blasphemy and profanation of Sundays, the sacred Day.

Promises of our Lord Jesus-Christ to all

those devoted to the Holy Face

- They will receive within them, thanks to my humanity impressed upon them, a living reflexion of my divinity; they will be imbued with it, deep down in their souls, and, by virtue of this resemblance with my Face, they will therefore be more radiant in eternal life than many other souls.

- I will re-establish in them, at the time of death, the image of God disfigured by sin.

- All those who venerate My Face in a spirit of atonement will be as agreeable to me as Saint Veronica. They will be rendering me as holy an office as hers and I will engrave my divine traits in their souls.

- This Face, worthy of adoration, is like the seal of the Divinity, which has the virtue of reproducing in souls the image of God.

- According to the care they take in making reparation to My Face disfigured by insults and ungodliness, so I will take care of theirs, disfigured by sin.

- I will once again impress upon their souls my image and will make them as beautiful as they were on the day of their Baptism.

-By offering my Holy Face to my Father, they will appease divine anger and obtain the conversion of sinners (as if it were a divine currency).

-Nothing will be refused to them when they offer my Holy Face. I will speak to my Father myself to present to him all their preoccupations.

-They will accomplish prodigies by my Holy Face. They will be radiant with my light, wrapped in my love, and I will assure them with perseverance in good.

- I will never abandon them.

- I will be, before my Father, the defender of all those who, by their word, their prayer or their writing, uphold my cause in this work of reparation. At the time of death, I will purify the face of their soul of any ugliness deriving from sin and will restore their original beauty.

Amen.

Prayer crown to the glory of the Holy Name of God in reparation for blasphemes

Instead of the credo we say:

We adore Thee, O Christ, and we bless Thee, because by Thy holy Cross Thou hast redeemed the world!

On the three small beads of the Cross we say:

May the Very Holy Name of the Lord be glorified by the very Holy Soul of the Incarnate Word.

May the Very Holy Name of the Lord be glorified by the very Holy Soul of the Incarnate Word.

On the five large beads we say:

We invoque you, O Sacred Name of the Living God, by the mouth of Jesus in the Holy Sacrament, and we offer you, O my Lord, by the Holy hands of the Divine Mary, all the Holy Hosts on our altars, in sacrifice to make honorable amends and reparation for all the blasphemy that insults your Holy Name.

On each small bead of the decade:

Prayers of st Thérèse of Lisieux to the Holy Face of Jesus

"O Jesus, who, in Thy cruel Passion didst become the 'reproach of men and the Man of Sorrows,' I worship Thy divine Face. Once it shone with the beauty and sweetness of the Divinity; but now, for my sake, it is become as 'the face of a leper.' Yet, in that disfigured Countenance, I recognize Thy infinite love, and I am consumed with the desire of making Thee loved by all mankind. The tears that flowed so abundantly from Thy Eyes are to me as precious pearls that I delight to gather, that with their worth I may ransom the souls of poor sinners.

O Jesus, whose Face is the sole beauty that ravishes my heart, I may not see here below the sweetness of Thy glance, nor feel the ineffable tenderness of Thy kiss, I bow to Thy Will but I pray Thee to imprint in me Thy divine likeness, and I implore Thee so to inflame me with Thy love, that it may quickly consume me, and that I may soon reach the vision of Thy glorious Face in heaven. Amen.”
